NPD

Yn dilyn arolwg o Gronfa Ddata Genedlaethol y Disgyblion ac ar ôl ystyried y ffordd y mae data perfformiad a rheoli’n cael eu defnyddio i helpu ysgolion i werthuso’u hunain, i wella ac i fod yn effeithlon, mae Llywodraeth y Cynulliad yn gwneud newidiadau mawr i’r modd y mae’n cynnal dadansoddiadau cyd-destunol o ysgolion a gynhelir yng Nghymru.

Yng ngoleuni casgliadau’r adolygiad, ni ddatblygir y Gronfa Ddata bellach ac fe’i dilëwyd ar 1af Medi 2009. Yn ei lle, ceir Setiau Data Craidd Cymru Gyfan i bob cyfnod allweddol, gan gynnwys canlyniadau 2009, mewn diwyg cyson i bob ysgol ac awdurdod lleol yng Nghymru, yn ôl yr amserlen ganlynol:

Following a review of the National Pupil Database (NPD) and consideration of the way performance and management data are used to support school self evaluation, improvement and effectiveness, the Welsh Assembly Government is making significant changes to the delivery of contextual analyses for maintained schools in Wales.

In view of the findings of the review the NPD will not be further developed and was withdrawn on the 1st September 2009. In its place All-Wales Core Data Sets for each key stage, including 2009 results, are provided in a fixed format to all schools and local authorities in Wales, according to the following schedule:

23 September 2009	Final key stage 1, 2 & 3 data; Attendance data for 2007/08
21 October 2009	Provisional key stage 4 data; Provisional value added analyses
2 December 2009	Final key stage 4 data; Attendance data for 2008/09
18 December 2009	Final value added analyses

In addition, the school-level performance reports that were previously available on this NPD website are now available, including 2009 data, on www.statswales.wales.gov.uk.

In the longer term a new, interactive analysis tool will be developed and deployed.
